How it works

How coverage works from the moment you dial

Four steps, the same for every town on the list.

  1. You call

Say which town you are in and give the street address.

  2. You describe the problem

What you see, hear or smell, and what you have turned off.

  3. The timing is set

Same-day service is available. The soonest slot goes to the most urgent problem.

  4. The job is done

The plumber explains the options and does the work.

Pricing

What moves the price, wherever you live

Prices depend on the job rather than the town. These are the factors that matter most.

What the problem is

Replacing a washer in a faucet and replacing a section of main line are different orders of work.

Access to the pipe or part

Open and visible is quick. Inside a wall, under a slab or in the yard takes longer.

The condition of what is there

Scale in hard water or corrosion turns a simple swap into a longer job.

Equipment size and type

Tank sizes, tankless heaters, fuel type and fixtures vary.

Condition of nearby parts

A worn valve or fitting next to the failed part can widen a small repair.

Have this ready for the call

  • Your town and street address
  • A short description of the problem
  • Your water bill, if it names the district
  • What you have turned off

Ask about pricing when you call.

Town by town: what is different about the water and sewer

Every town below has its own page, built from that town’s published water-quality reports and utility pages. The right-hand column is the one-line difference that matters for plumbing. Hardness is quoted as published, in grains per gallon, and the page for each town says how recent the report is.

Know your district

A five-minute check that saves a phone call later

Your bill answers it

The city name on your mailing address does not always match your water district. Murrieta, Hemet, Temecula, Perris, Wildomar, San Jacinto and Canyon Lake each have areas where the answer depends on the street. The City or district you pay for water is the one whose water-quality report describes your tap, and the one to call about pressure on a whole street.

The fastest check needs no research. Pull out a recent bill and read the name at the top. If you rent and the landlord pays, ask. If the bill is blank on the point, the district’s customer service can confirm from your address in a couple of minutes.

Which district?
  • Read the name on the billIt names the supplier and the account.
  • Look for the yearly reportDistricts publish a water quality report every year, with hardness listed.
  • Check the district mapSan Jacinto, Hemet and others host maps for this.
  • Ask when in doubtA customer service call settles which agency serves the address.
Four ways to find out.
Hard water across the region

How hardness differs from town to town

Moderately hard to very hard

Hardness is measured in grains per gallon. On EMWD’s scale, 4.4 to 8.8 is moderately hard, 8.8 to 17.5 is hard and above that is very hard. Our towns span that range. Some suppliers report averages near 5 grains. Some imported blends are in the low teens. Local groundwater in a few places runs far higher. Even within one agency, the blend can shift with the season.

What does hardness do to plumbing? Scale forms where water is heated or dries: tanks, elements, aerators and faucet trim. See the hard water guide for the full explanation and water softener installation for a fix.

A range of numbers
TownReported hardness (published, as given on its page)
FallbrookAveraged about 13.7 grains in 2025, classed very hard by the district
Temecula and MurrietaRCWD imported water about 13.5 grains, wells about 8.8 on average
CoronaSystem average about 8.5 grains; sources range from about 5 to about 26
HemetCity wells about 9.5 grains; EMWD supply about 5.4 (2025)
French ValleySkinner plant supply about 16 grains in EMWD’s 2021 and 2022 reports
Sun City and MenifeeAbout 7 grains typical, with occasional water near 16
Rounded from each district’s report. Newer or older reports exist for some towns.
Published hardness

These are not promises about your tap.

Each figure is an average from a district report, and the water at your faucet can differ. If hardness matters for a purchase, ask your district for its latest report and, if you want a number for your house, have the water tested.

Sewer

Septic, public sewers and who owns the pipe

Four arrangements in four towns

Sewer service varies more than most people expect. Lake Elsinore, Canyon Lake and Wildomar are mostly EVMWD territory. Sun City, Menifee, French Valley and Perris are EMWD sewer territory. Hemet owns its collection system and sends the sewage to an EMWD plant. San Jacinto does the same. In Fallbrook, the utility district has said that much of its service area is lower-density development on septic, and that it owns no part of the laterals.

For any town, the pipe between the house and the street is the question that matters. Who owns it is set by each city or district, and Fallbrook’s district says plainly that it is the owner’s. See sewer line repair and the guide to sewer line replacement.

Sewer by town

Sewage in the house is a health issue.

Keep people and pets away, stop using water and call. Do not use a plunger on a line that is backing up from the main. See emergency plumber for how urgent calls are handled.

Coverage

What the plumbing service areas in Lake Elsinore actually mean

A phone line, not a storefront

This is a phone-based service. When we say we cover a town, we mean that calls from that town are answered and handled on the same number as every other call. We do not claim an office, a truck, or staff based in any town on this list. A plumber is sent to the address you give.

That is why the pages are written from each town’s public information. They show what a homeowner there should know about water, sewer and local rules, and they are honest where the information is missing. The next section links every service-by-town page we have.

Questions

Service area questions

What are the plumbing service areas in Lake Elsinore and nearby?
Lake Elsinore and twelve nearby places: Murrieta, Temecula, Corona, Menifee, Hemet, Fallbrook, Perris, Canyon Lake, San Jacinto, Wildomar, Sun City and French Valley. Each has an area page above. If your town is not listed, call and ask.
Do I call a different number for each town?
No. Every town goes to the same number, and a person answers it day or night.
Do you have an office in my town?
We do not claim a local office, truck or staff in any town. We cover the town, and calls from there are answered on the same number. The plumber is sent to your address.
How do I find out which water district serves me?
Read the name at the top of your water bill, or ask the district to confirm by address. Several towns on this list have more than one district, so the street matters more than the city name.
Is the water the same in every town you cover?
No. The published hardness ranges from moderate to very hard and varies by district, source and season. Each area page shows the figures we found and says how recent they are.
How much does a plumber cost?
It depends on the job, not the town. Access, the condition of the existing parts, equipment size and urgency drive the price. Ask about pricing when you call.
Does the price change by town?
The job determines the price. A hard-to-reach pipe or a scaled valve takes longer wherever it is. Describe the problem on the call and the plumber can say what kind of job it sounds like.
Can someone come the same day?
Same-day service is available. Timing depends on the problem, the hour and your location, so say what is happening and ask.
Are you open on weekends and holidays?
The phone is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included.
What should I do if there is a gas smell?
Leave the house, avoid switches and flames, and call from outside. See signs of a gas leak and gas leak repair.
What if water is pouring from a pipe?
Close the main valve, switch off the water heater if it is involved and call. The guide on shutting off the main shows how to find it.
Do you cover places not on the list?
Call and ask. The list shows the towns with their own pages, and nearby streets may be covered. We will tell you before the plumber is sent.
